In today’s world of iPads, “apps”, smartphones, laptop notebooks, and computerized reading “gadgets”, technology is an integral part of today’s society, as well as an important feature at Lyndon Academy. Classrooms at Lyndon are equipped with Smart Board technology and student computers. Exposure to the technology is important even at the junior kindergarten level. Through continuous exposure students learn how to utilize tools and adapt to ever changing aspects of our lives. Smart Technology and computers assist teachers in delivering lessons in more interactive, dynamic and colorful ways, while engaging students. Homework assignments are posted online and in some cases are completed online.
Parents have the ability to login from anywhere to see planned class activities, assignments, projects, and test dates. The school calendar integrates with smart phones, and parents are made aware of events, event changes, school closings, etc. via Terrier Alerts, a voice, text and email alert service. Students also have the opportunity to sign up for computer related courses after school. In 2010-11, students participated in animated movie making classes and video game creation classes.
