"Active citizenship" is the philosophy that citizens should work towards the betterment of their community through economic participation, public, volunteer work, and other such efforts to improve life for all citizens. This philosophy is embedded in the very fabric of our institution. At Lyndon, we incorporate this philosophy in our standards of learning, we model "active citizenship", and we exercise it in and outside of school.

Our volunteer community service group is known as Lyndon In Action or LIA. They were the first organized club at Lyndon Academy, and they are one of the most important clubs. They volunteer their time after school and on weekends to help make their community a better place for everyone.

See Serving Others for more information on LIA.
